Lisa Brown

Insight Tradition
Lisa has been practising and studying Buddhist meditation since 2004. Her Insight Meditation path began in 2009 while studying Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction teacher training with Jon Kabat Zinn, Saki Santorelli and Bob Stahl. Since 2017, Lisa has collaborated and taught with her teacher, mentor and friend Malcolm Huxter on Insight Meditation retreats.

With  a strong commitment towards cultivating an engaged, embodied Buddhist path of presence, Lisa is a teacher with Tallowwood Sangha in Bellingen.

Integrating teachings from the Buddhadharma, Contemporary Psychology and Yoga she co-wrote and facilitates the transformative Mindfulness-based Trauma Recovery and Prevention for Frontline Workers program with her Dharma friend and colleague Kate Duncan.

Lisa is grateful to live on Gumbaynggirr lands near Coffs Harbour, NSW where she works as a registered psychologist in private practice. She is a senior teacher with Yoga Australia and also studies in the Tibetan Buddhist Mahayana tradition with her teacher and friend Lama Tendar, of the Medicine Buddha Centre in Melbourne.
“My aspiration is to support people, through an alchemy of ancient wisdom teachings and modern science, to cultivate inner and outer balance in meeting the social and environmental challenges we face collectively on the planet.”
