Insight Meditation
Kate Mutimer is an Insight Dharma teacher, psychologist and psychotherapist who has practised Buddhist meditation for more than 25 years. Her practice began in the Vipassana tradition and was strongly influenced in its early years by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh. She has undertaken many residential and silent meditation retreats and completed Dharma Teacher Training with the Insight Meditation Institute, where she was mentored by senior Insight teacher Alan Bassal. Her practice and teaching have also been deeply influenced by her work with Victor van de Hyde, Buddhist Dharma Teacher, who teaches imaginal and soulmaking dharma as developed by Rob Burbea. Kate teaches Insight meditation, Dharma courses and residential retreats in the Northern Rivers and beyond. She has worked as a psychologist and psychotherapist for more than 25 years, with extensive training in mindfulness, compassion, trauma and somatic approaches. Her teaching brings together classical Buddhist practice with embodied and psychological inquiry, with a particular interest in how Dharma practice opens into greater freedom, compassion, relationship and participation in the wider community of life. |
