Meditation Groups

insight Meditation

Ashtree Sangha

Ashtree Sangha is an Insight Meditation Group (Vipassana) based in Clarence Park, Adelaide.

The group meets every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm and is held at a private home, 24 Thames St. Clarence Park.

The format consists of a 45 minute meditation period, followed by a discussion of the meditation. This year, on the 2nd Sunday of the month, we are studying a text, Stephen Batchelors “Buddhism Without Beliefs”. We read some of this in the group and discuss the implications.

The group sessions are open to anyone interested in Insight Meditation, beginners included.

For more information ring Anna (08) 8555 2588

Bay Insight Meditation presents the teachings of the Buddha in the tradition of Insight Meditation (Vipassana). We meet weekly on Tuesdays from 7:15pm to 9:00pm at The Temple Byron (former Aikido Centre), 46 Melaleuca Drive. Melaleuca Drive goes off to the right opposite the industrial area, as you are coming into Byron from the highway along Ewingsdale Road.

The group leaders are Radha Nicholson and Ellen Davison who are both members of the Australian Insight Teacher Circle.

Sessions are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners. Instruction will be provided to beginners.

The usual format is a silent meditation starting at 7.15pm followed by a break for tea at 8.00pm, which will provide an opportunity to meet others interested in the Dharma. This will be followed by a talk or related dharma activity that will finish around 9.00pm.
