Ellen Davison

Ellen has practiced meditation in both the Zen and Vipassana
traditions. She practiced Zen in Japan in the early 1970's and
from 1977 practiced with Robert Aitken Roshi in Hawaii, founder
of the Diamond Sangha.
In 1979 Ellen came to Australia with her partner Leigh, and
settled on the Dharmananda Community, where they continue to
live. She continued her practice and study of the Dharma with
teachers of the Diamond Sangha lineage and with a number of
Insight Vipassana teachers including Christopher Titmus and
Patrick Kearney.
Ellen is a guiding teacher at the Kuan Yin Meditation Centre
in Lismore and Bay Insight in Byron. She leads Zen and Insight/Vipassana
retreats and workshops in Darwin, Queensland and Northern New
South Wales.
Ellen's approach to meditation practice is to facilitate inquiry
into the Dharma and foster the direct seeing into experience
which leads to understanding and wisdom.
Ellen is a registered psychologist and works as a counsellor.
