Anna Markey

Anna Markey was introduced to Buddhist practice in 1983 while
teaching in a Tibetan village in India.
She attended retreats with Christopher Titmuss the same year,
and she has practiced insight meditation ever since. Anna also
practiced for a number of years with a Zen group in the tradition
of Thich Nhat Hanh, as well as in the Mahasi method with Patrick
Kearney.
She currently studies with Jason Siff, with whom she runs an
annual retreat in the Adelaide Hills. Anna leads two dharma
groups in South Australia – the Goolwa Dharma Group in
Goolwa, and the Ashtree Sangha in Adelaide, and she is the chair
of the Buddhist Council of South Australia.
Anna is interested in ways we can apply the Buddha’s
teachings to our daily lives, especially in our roles as parents
and in relation to the challenges of family life. She teaches
meditation to children in primary school, and she is interested
in exploring ways to work with children in the dharma.
